Prerequisites for admission.

The course is reserved for candidates who meet the following criteria by the application deadline:
1. Master's and/or specialist degree in:
o Medicine and Surgery (LM-41; 46/S)
o Biology (LM-6; 6/S)
o Pharmacy and Industrial Pharmacy (LM-13; 14/S)
o Psychology (LM-51; 58/S)
o Chemical Sciences (LM-54; 62/S)
o Physics (LM-17; 20/S)
o Veterinary Medicine (LM-42; 47/S)
o Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics (LM-46; 52/S)
b. Pre-reform degrees:
o Medicine and Surgery
o Biological Sciences
o Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies
o Pharmacy
o Psychology
o Chemistry
o Physics
o Veterinary Medicine
o Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics

2. At least 5 years of seniority in the Italian National Health Service in a managerial position. University staff providing healthcare services in the Italian National Health Service for at least 5 years are considered equivalent to healthcare managers.
3. Not already holding the title of Director of a complex structure or acting as such.
4. Being employed with a permanent contract by the Healthcare Organisations of the Health Service of Emilia-Romagna Region.
The course is primarily aimed at Healthcare Managers employed by the Healthcare Organisations of the Health Service of Emilia-Romagna Region. Applications from healthcare managers from other Regions or Autonomous Provinces of Italy will be accepted provided they meet the access requirements regulatory requirements for “managerial training”. According to the Emilia-Romagna Region note no. 644 of 15/06/2020, two-thirds of the participants must be healthcare managers employed by the Healthcare Organisations of the Health Service of Emilia-Romagna Region. According to the Emilia-Romagna Region note no. 775130 of 20/12/2017, healthcare managers employed in other Regions or Autonomous Provinces are required to pay the fee as indicated by their Region or Autonomous Province. Failing this, the candidate must pay the enrolment fee of €1,500.
A reserve of 5 places is provided for healthcare managers (medical doctors, veterinarians, dentists, pharmacists, biologists, chemists, physicists, psychologists) employed by the General Management for Personal Care, Health and Welfare of the Emilia-Romagna Region or dealing with health-related matters in other General Management of the Region.
Those who do not meet all the requirements for the issuance of the managerial training certificate by the Emilia-Romagna Region may participate in the selection if they hold one of the following degrees: - specialist degree (D.M. 509/99), master's degree (D.M. 270/04), pre-reform degree, or equivalent qualifications according to current regulations.

Admission procedures

Based on qualifications. Academic qualifications and CVs will be evaluated (e.g. work experience and positions, professional training on course-related topics, scientific production, and teaching activities).

Educational goals

The course aims to train those intending to operate in public or private healthcare structures as directors of complex structures or other roles, in the managerial process in healthcare companies.
The course aims to promote the development of organisational and managerial skills, including economic-financial and relational ones, for leadership roles in structures, and to provide techniques, tools, methodologies, and knowledge for:
• Performance evaluation, to make result-oriented evaluation an integral part of the professionals' competencies;
• Health technology assessment, to promote awareness of the importance of this approach in healthcare system management;
• Implement organisational models and human resource management, integrated service delivery pathways oriented towards the continuous quality improvement of the provided service and customer/user satisfaction.

The registration fee is 1500 €

Course Location: In person at Marco Biagi Foundation (Largo Marco Biagi 10, Modena). Some lessons will be held via streaming.

Course Period: Classes will be held from November 2024 to February 2025, on Fridays (8 hours) and Saturday mornings (4 hours).
