Prerequisites for the admission.

To enroll in the secondcycle degree program in Business Management and Consulting students must possess solid theoretical foundations and operational expertise in quantitative subjects applicable to economics (mathematics and statistics), economics (microeconomics and macroeconomics), business law (specifically foundations in public, private, commercial and tax law) and business economics, with a focus on financial analysis. Applicants must also possess foundations in the main business functions and have a basic knowledge of English. In addition to possessing a threeyear university degree or diploma, or another qualification obtained abroad recognized as equivalent, or a degree in the field of economics from the old fouryear system as well as the curricular requisites laid down by Program Regulation, students are required to take a test to assess their level of personal preparation. The entrance test is designed to assess whether students possess the knowledge and skills described above. Details about how the test is organized are defined by the Academic Regulations for the Program of study.

Educational goals

The program aims to develop the skills and aptitude required for managerial and entrepreneurial positions in companies or as business consultants. The course offers a learning program that, on the one hand, touches on all major functional areas and, on the other hand, aims to integrate functional and sectoral knowledge from the crossfunctional and business perspective of someone who is preparing to take on managerial or consulting roles. In compliance with the learning objectives for its class, the degree course in Corporate Management and Consulting has been designed with margins of flexibility that allow students to pursue partially differentiated educational goals. 1) For those who want to pursue a career in management or business, the course allows students to acquire indepth knowledge in the fields of business and management economics, providing advanced training for recruitment in managerial positions in industrial, commercial and service companies, including the public sector. To this end, the program includes courses that allow students to: • ensure a good level of expertise in all major business functions; • provide a comprehensive and unified preparation necessary for the correct interpretation of economic, legal, sociocultural and technological phenomena, with a focus on tools for managing processes of change; • develop an indepth understanding of the interdependencies between business functions and actors in economic systems. The resulting professional will be able to occupy positions of responsibility in decisionmaking bodies which make up the organizational structures of companies, businesses and public administrations, and in view of taking on general responsibility in company management. The resulting professional qualification meets the real needs of the labor market and graduates are destined to be well received. 2) For those who are aiming for a specific type of consulting career, this course allows students to acquire knowledge in the legal and business subjects that make up the necessary cultural foundations that mark the professional consultant, with a specific focus on the profession of Chartered Accountant. In this context, this secondcycle degree course allows students to: 2a) Train to qualify as typical selfemployed/professional Chartered Accountants, or, more specifically, as selfemployed professionals who work with or support companies or local public bodies in ordinary or extraordinary management choices / decisions, in planning and keeping accounts, making tax decisions or running administrativeaccounting and financial control functions; The course aims to train specialized graduates who have extensive knowledge in business economics, with emphasis on administrative, accounting, financial, legal and tax issues and are able to use this knowledge to address everyday business and the complexities of running a business with the integrated and comprehensive vision of consultants and business professionals.

Communication skills

All secondcycle Corporate Management and Consulting graduates are able to present their own conclusions and recommendations regarding studies, analyses and proposals, A expound their reasoning clearly and effectively in oral and written form. They also know how to use appropriate terminology based on their audience. Communication skills are developed particularly during training activities that require the oral presentation of written essays and documents. The acquisition of the communication skills listed above is achieved through any work students carry out in preparation for the final dissertation and defense, and during the course of any practical work experience or internship. Knowledge of English is considered a prerequisite for access to the program and will be further developed and evaluated through assessment tests.

Making Judgements

All secondcycle Business management and consulting graduates know how to select the most appropriate approaches and tools to manage the many problems that companies face in defining their functional and strategic policies. They also develop independent thinking skills on issues related to their specific areas of study. Independent thinking is developed particularly through exercises, discussing cases in class, attending seminars, writing papers and doing group work. Any experience gained through practical work experience or internships, in addition to any work carried out in preparation for the final examination is of particular importance on this front Student autonomy in formulating judgment is evaluated through an assessment of their degree of autonomy and ability to work, also in groups, on exercises assigned during courses as well as any work done in preparation for the final examination and internships.

Learning skills

During their program of study all secondcycle graduates in Business management and consulting acquire not only new tools and content, but they also refine their ability to acquire new skills by developing their study method and mental flexibility, and by understanding the importance of constantly staying abreast of these two fundamental features in their approach to the job market. Students' ability to learn and adapt is assessed and stimulated by assigning written papers and through group work, particularly during internships and the preparation of the final examination.

Knowledge and understanding

All secondcycle degree graduates in Corporate management and consulting have: • indepth knowledge of financial statements, international accounting principles, financial analysis, planning and control;• the necessary tools for dealing with budget issues for groups of both listed and unlisted companies; • tools for the quantitative analysis of business data; • expert knowledge of corporate management processes; • a solid background in corporate finance; • a solid background regarding competition and industry dynamics; • a solid background in corporate law; • the necessary knowledge to develop a complete business plan (strategic choices and developing of budget forecasts). Using the available margins of flexibility, secondcycle degree graduates can also acquire: • solid foundations in all major functions that make up business management, as well as issues involved in integrating various functions; • theoretical and applicative knowledge of strategy formulation (at business and corporate levels), as well as the processes of implementing and monitoring strategies; • the principles and techniques involved in preparing consolidated financial statements; • the assessment methods adopted by companies; • issues relating to the main operations of extraordinary finance; • auditing principles and methods; • the various areas of legal accounting (with a focus on the subjects of tax law, civil law and procedure, bankruptcy and contract law). The knowledge described is acquired by attending lectures, classroom exercises, carrying out group work and writing papers; carrying out independent study and preparing the final dissertation. Depending on the career they plan on pursuing, students can also choose whether to improve their language skills by reaching a sufficient level of the English language or carry out an internship at a professional firm. The outcome of these results is assessed mainly through oral and/or written exams, as well as through the evaluation of and feedback on group and individual work (final dissertation and essays).

Applying knowledge and understanding

All secondcycle graduates in Corporate Management and Consulting are able to: • prepare a financial statement in accordance with international accounting standards; • analyze business and environmental data (accounting and nonaccounting) to support business decisions; • use quantitative models with a systematic approach to solving business problems; • set up planning and control systems; • make choices in corporate finance; • analyze the dynamics of industrial sectors; •make major decisions regarding company law; • prepare a business plan that includes a budget. At different levels, depending on their individual program of study, secondcycle graduates are also able to: • make all fundamental decisions related to all major business functions; • integrate the analyses and decisions relating to various functional spheres; • prepare an analysis that supports strategic decisions and make decisions regarding the scope of the business strategies at business and corporate levels; • establish and monitor a consolidated financial statement; • apply traditional auditing techniques; • perform economicquantitative determinations regarding extraordinary operations; • perform duties required of members of supervisory boards; • provide global financial consulting to enterprises and entrepreneurs; • provide economic, financial and tax consulting on undertaking mergers, acquisitions and transfers; • provide tax and legal accounting consulting; • act as liquidator; • prepare, read and analyze the financial statements of public bodies. The ability to apply the knowledge and understanding listed above is assessed through tests and assignments (written and / or oral reports, classroom exercises, problem solving activities) that require students to perform specific tasks, and in which they must demonstrate a command of the tools, methodologies and critical autonomy. The evaluation of the final dissertation is of particular importance. An evaluation of the internship is made based on a written report written by the students and submitted to their assigned company tutors.
