It represents the operational structure within the University that oversees the proper and uniform implementation of the University's Quality Assurance (QA) procedures, based on the guidelines of the governing bodies.

It proposes quality tools and training, supports the QA Managers of the Athenaeum structures.
To this end, it acts as a link between the OOAA (Academic Senate, Board of Directors and Evaluation Board) and the decentralised structures (Departments/Faculties/Schools, Courses of Study (CdS), Doctoral Courses, Teachers-Students Joint Committees).
It verifies the appropriateness of the Quality Education, Research and Third Mission policies adopted by the Study Courses, Departments/Faculties/Schools.

It consists of a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 lecturers, appointed by the Board of Directors on the Rector's proposal, plus the Rector's Delegate for Quality, who coordinates it.
Furthermore, a student representative, designated by the Student Conference, is a full member of the PQA. The President of the Student Conference is permanently invited to the meetings of the Quality Assurance Committee.

The PQA has access to all the data it deems necessary via the PQA Support Office.
