Alias Career

Contenuto

A tool for inclusion

The University of Modena and Reggio Emilia has activated the Career Alias for students, staff and guests at its premises who wish to use a name other than their biographical name in interactions with the University.

The Alias Career thus consists of the creation of a 'temporary alternative identity within the University computer system through the substitution of the personal name with another, chosen by the person concerned. This identity may remain active for the duration of the career.

The name chosen will be on the badge and in the university e-mail address. It will not be possible to trace the biographical name.

The Alias Career, based on the principle of gender self-determination , aims to ensure a serene study and work environment in which interpersonal relationships are marked by fairness, mutual respect for freedoms and the inviolability of the person, as stipulated in Law No. 164 of April 14, 1982.

The elective name will be used to be able to take exams, for proclamation at graduation or doctoral dissertation discussion, and for everything related to one's course of study or work in Unimore.

The adoption of the Career Alias is consistent with University policies and the guidelines of the National Conference of Equality Bodies of Italian Universities adopted and also disseminated by the CRUI Gender Issues Commission.
