Department of Education and Human Sciences

The current Department of Education and Human Sciences was established in 2004 as the Faculty of Education. Why set up a department at Unimore dedicated to the three pillars of personal services, namely training, education and interventions based on the study of psycho-social variables? For a very simple reason: the Modena-Reggios area boasts traditions of excellence in these areas. It has always invested resources to implement good practices of prevention, education, integration and recovery in different contexts and ages of life (childhood, adolescence, youth, adults, the elderly). Suffice it to mention the Municipality of Reggio Emilia's Infant-toddler Centres and Preschools, which are world-famous for the extraordinary quality of their services and their innovative approach to educating children. The Department of Education and Human Sciences is characterised by its attention to the multiple and complex reality of the person, by its ability to activate international collaboration relations with universities and research centres, but also by its close synergy with the qualified network of services, schools, institutions in the area.
