Failure to submit the required documentation may result in the suspension of the scholarship payment until the documents are provided. If, upon submission, the documents reveal that the candidate does not meet the admission requirements, the PhD student will be excluded from the program, and any scholarship funds already received must be refunded.
Candidates holding a foreign degree must submit the following documents to the PhD Office:
- Degree certificate, translated and authenticated.
The authenticity of foreign academic degrees and certificates must be confirmed in one of the following ways:
- Legalization or Apostille: Degrees and certificates must be legalised in order to guarantee their authenticity, at the Italian Embassy. Check here the procedures established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation - MAECI for translation and legalisation (https://www.esteri.en/en/servizi-consolari-e-visti/italiani-all-estero/traduzione-e-legalizzazione-documenti/).
If the country where the qualification was obtained is a party to the Hague Convention (1961), instead of legalisation, the documents must be apostilled by the designated internal authority, Find the list of competent authorities for each country here:
Hague Convention Authorities. Thanks to specific agreements, it is not necessary to legalise or apostilise documents
for the following countries: Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland, Latvia, Estonia, Germany, Austria.
OR
- certificate of authenticity verification issued by CIMEA - Italian ENICNARIC centre.
- Documents certifying the academic value of the degree, such as:
- Declaration of Value (Dichiarazione di Valore), issued by the Italian Embassy in the country where the degree was awarded.
OR
- Diploma Supplement drawn up according to the European Commission model, for academic qualifications awarded by countries belonging to the European Higher Education Area (Bologna Process), signed and legalised;
OR
- Comparability Statement, issued by CIMEA, the Italian ENIC-NARIC center. Alternatively, candidates from Lisbona Convention signatory countries can directly download the Correspondence Statement from the CIMEA "Ardi" platform: CIMEA Ardi Platform.
