Eligible applicants must hold one of the following degrees (or equivalent Italian/foreign qualifications):
• Medicine and Surgery (LM-41);
• Nursing or Midwifery (L/SNT1);
• Pharmacy or Industrial Pharmacy (LM-13);
• Biological Sciences (L-13, 6/S);
• Medical Biotechnology (LM-9, 9/S).

Admission is restricted and based on qualifications.
• If the number of eligible applications is ≤45, all applicants may be admitted directly.
• If the number of applications exceeds the available places, a selection committee will evaluate candidates based on their degree grade, postgraduate qualifications, publications, and motivation.
• Admission is determined according to a merit ranking.

The Master’s program trains professionals (physicians, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, biologists) specialized in the control and management of healthcare-associated infections.
Career opportunities include:
• Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) services in public and private healthcare institutions;
• Clinical and coordination roles in hospitals and healthcare facilities;
• Technical and scientific support for surveillance, research, and training programs in the field of HAIs.

The Master’s program aims to develop participants’ ability to:
• Diagnose all types of HAIs in different healthcare settings using innovative diagnostic tools;
• Interpret and apply epidemiological surveillance systems for infections and antibiotic consumption;
• Understand antimicrobial stewardship principles and the interconnection between human, animal, and environmental health (One Health approach);
• Design, manage, and evaluate infection prevention interventions in hospital and community settings;
• Develop interprofessional collaboration and the ability to manage complex infection control programs.
