Enrolment to PhD Programs

Contenuto

Enrolment in PhD programs is EXCLUSIVELY available to candidates who have successfully passed the admission selection process.

The deadline for enrolment,  under penalty of losing the position won, is specified in the admission call and reiterated via email to the successful candidates.

Candidates who have passed the admission selection must enrol in the first year of the PhD program exclusively by accessing Esse3 (www.esse3.unimore.it) and following this path:

"Menu" → "Student Area" → "Enrolment" → "Enrolment to degree courses with an admission test" → "PhD courses".

During the enrolment process, candidates must confirm or update their personal data and upload the following documents:

Enrolment is considered complete ONLY AFTER PAYMENT OF THE TUITION FEE.

The tuition fee is automatically generated in Esse3 at the end of the enrolment process.

The tuition fees for PhD programs are:

  • €180.48 for the following programs:

    • Clinical and Experimental Medicine (CEM)
    • Health Innovative Products and Technologies (HIP-TECH)
    • Molecular and Regenerative Medicine
    • Neurosciences

(This amount includes the regional tax, stamp duty, and insurance coverage, including liability for medical malpractice and infection risk.)

  • €159.67 for all other PhD programs (including regional tax, stamp duty, and standard insurance coverage).

All payments must be made exclusively through the PagoPA system, as required by current regulations (more details on the Unimore website).

Other enrolment and payment methods will not be accepted.

Candidates who fail to complete their enrolment within the given deadline and in the specified manner will be considered as withdrawn from their position.

Vacant positions will be assigned to other candidates based on the final ranking.

Reserved positions that remain unfilled may be reassigned to eligible candidates from the same selection process or, for programs with multiple selection procedures, from the main selection.

For any technical or operational issues, please contact: webhelp@unimore.it.

Once the enrolment process is completed, all scholarship fellows (excluding foreign scholarship holders and research fellows) must register with the Italian Separate Social Security Management ("Gestione Separata INPS"), and send the form “Self-Certification of Registration with Gestione Separata INPS” to the Salary Office (ufficiostipendi@unimore.it). If already registered with Italian Separate Social Security Management ("Gestione Separata INPS"), send only a self-certification form confirming the enrolment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL CANDIDATES

For information on additional required documents, please visit this page.

ITALIAN TAX CODE (CODICE FISCALE)

Foreign candidates who do not yet have an Italian tax code can request it:

  • Before traveling to Italy, if the Italian Consulate/Embassy in their home country provides this service.
  • Upon arrival in Italy, from the Italian Revenue Agency (Agenzia delle Entrate).

In both cases, a copy of the tax code must be sent to the PhD Office (segr.dottorati@unimore.it).

PRE-ENROLMENT ON UNIVERSITALY FOR VISA APPLICATION

After completing the enrolment in the PhD program, candidates requiring a student visa to stay in Italy must register on Universitaly (https://www.universitaly.it), submit a "pre-enrolment application", and follow the required procedures.

Once the online pre-enrolment is completed, candidates must apply for a student visa at the Italian diplomatic representation in their country of residence (https://vistoperitalia.esteri.it).

Upon arrival in Italy, non-EU citizens must apply for a Residence Permit within 8 days using the dedicated kit available at post offices. A copy of the receipt for the residence permit application issued by the post office must be sent immediately to segr.dottorati@unimore.it, as it is required for the payment of the scholarship.

For assistance with tax codes, accommodation, visa applications, residence permits, or registration with INPS, candidates can contact the International Welcome Desk at internationalwelcomedesk@unimore.it.
